As I have been going door-to-door speaking to Pimpala residents as a part of my campaign for Councillor I have asked people what they are most concerned about. Issues with kids at school are not something council can usually help with but any local community should be incensed by the sexualisation of kids.
In my last post https://mark4council.com.au/uncategorized/dont-sexualise-our-children/ the issue at stake was sexually explicit books in council libraries that need to be removed or heavily restricted.
When this issue had arisen as I had been speaking to a resident at their front door some expressed scepticism that images in these books could really be so explicit. Believe me they are and anyone is encouraged to contact me if you want more details.
A few times during these conversations I had said this was nothing new or isolated and I referred to the ABC article by Amelia Walters on 4 April 2024
‘Bestiality references allegedly made during presentation at Renmark High School’
This article stated, Year 6 girls at Renmark High School say they were given a presentation on ‘respectful relationships’, without teachers present, that included references to bestiality.
Furthermore to show this was not some isolated aberration Dr Kevin Donnelly, senior fellow at ACU’s PM Institute wrote the following article which gives considerably greater perspective on this controversy.
As a last word on this, I present a talk by Angela Rojas a mum who has been a driving force in getting some of the most explicit books classified or banned. Here at her talk at an Elizabeth Park church she mentions specifically the debacle at the Renmark High School.
